Clubhouse Jr.

Exciting mail day!  I got my copies of the latest Clubhouse Jr. Magazine, in which my art is on the cover and illustrating one of the stories "Bugged and Blue"  This was my first opportunity working with Clubhouse Jr, and it was great!  I loved the story.  It is about a girl whose family makes a special trip to an amusement park....but it rains!  After I finished illustrating this story, I took my own kids to an outdoor museum park....but it rained!  This story came to mind, and we decided to have fun at the park anyway, and it turned out to be extra fun.  I hope you enjoy this issue just as much as I did. 

Todays inspiration

I was gardening, and looked up to see my my 5-year-old doing this.

 

This is why we who are in the children's publishing industry do what we do.

Tire Swing

My newest portfolio piece for my agent's upcoming catalog, themed "Landscape".  I wanted to do a nice quiet scene with a gentle color palette.  I would love to have a picnic and enjoy a book under that tree!

Babybug Magazine

My toddler loves "Babybug" magazine.  She's a wiggler, and this is one of the few books/publications that she will actually sit through.  So I am extra excited to have my art in the new May/June issue!
